(Englehart) – On July 27th 2010, members of the O.P.P. Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau, Drug Enforcement Unit, North Bay, with assistance from the O.P.P. Emergency Response Team and the O.P.P. K-9 Unit, executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act Search Warrant at a Savard Township property.As a result of this investigation an outdoor cannabis marihuana growing operation was located. 3,530 marihuana plants, with a potential street value of $3,530,000, was seized along with a tractor, van, ATV and trailer. Two men from the Greater Toronto Area were arrested and charged. CHARGED ARE: 1. Thuy Xuan VU, age 46 yrs, of Mississauga.
• Production of a Controlled Substance contrary to section 7(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act – (Cannabis Marihuana)
2. No Van DANG, age 48 yrs, of Toronto.
